Abidjan-‐Bamako Corridor Road Governance Report

Road Harassment on the Abidjan-‐Bamako corridor has been documented by the UEMOA/USAID Trade Hub Road Governance initiative since January 1st 2010.

The corridor is 1,238 km long of which 776km is in Côte d’Ivoire and 462 in Mali. The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in a 2012 study, found that 201 km of road were in good condition, 826 km in fair condition and 211 km under construction. All the following graphs are based on data collected from truck drivers through the Road Governance Initiative, better known as l’Observatoire des pratiques anormales or OPA for short.
