Abidjan-­‐Ouagadougou Corridor Road Governance Report

Road Harassment on the Abidjan-­‐Ouagadougou corridor has been documented by the UEMOA/USAID Trade Hub Road Governance initiative since January 1st 2010.

The corridor is 1,228 km long of which 718 km are in Cote d’Ivoire and 510 km in Burkina Faso The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in a 2012 study, found that 557 km of the road was good condition, 625 km in fair condition, and 46 km in bad condition and that traffic level at the Leraba-­‐Dangouindougou border was 200 trucks per day, of which 40 % were heavy trucks. The following graphs are based on data collected from truck drivers through the Road Governance Initiative, better known as l’Observatoire des pratiques anormales or OPA for short.
